Animated Game Character
Chester

Part 1: Brief

For Assignment 2, I was tasked with creating an audio narrative that either depicted a specific scene or evoked a particular mood, inspired by a chosen image from a provided set. This composition required a blend of recorded audio, including background environmental sounds and foreground activities, along with sounds I generated myself using both digital and hardware synthesizers and Foley techniques. The project stipulated no use of generative AI and minimal vocal elements, focusing instead on non-speech sounds. My piece, approximately three minutes long, was both edited and processed in Reaper, applying multi-track mixing and non-destructive editing techniques. Accompanying the submission, I provided detailed documentation on the recording processes, the sounds used, and the creative decisions made to shape the narrative and emotional arc of the composition, reflecting on how these elements integrated to form the final audio piece.

Part 2: Brief

For this assignment, you will continue working on the character you sculpted and retopologised in Assignment 1, pending approval by your tutor*. This is the stage where you will be adding accessories such as hair, clothing, armour and props. You will need to continue considering the possible stereotypes and biases you are representing with your character design and the impact this may have on users or players. You will then rig and skin your character so it can be animated. Finally, you will pose your character and import it into Unity.
